Often called the “rest and digest” branch of our nervous system, the parasympathetic nervous system effects digestion, stress hormone levels and sleep among others. It can be thrown out of whack if we consume too much caffeine, not enough sleep, or a bunch of stress. Luckily, there are simple exercises to bring our body systems back to normal!
